German Awards - Cross of Honor for Military and Military Unions 1902/Kriegerverein-Ehrenzeichen 1909

This award was established on October 28, 1902 by Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst. Warriors and military alliances were awarded that lasted at least 25 years and at least 10 years were members of the Union of Military and Military Alliances of the Grand Duke of Saxony. Also, the clubs had to earn special merits in the upbringing and preservation of the patriotic and friendly spirit. The honorary cross was attached to the flag or standard of the Union of Warriors with a long ribbon 78 mm wide.
The badge of honor "Union of Warriors" was established on July 4, 1909 as an addition to individuals who have earned outstanding services in the cause of caring for military and military alliance. The cross represents a reduction of the previously donated cross of honour. Size 39 mm and average shield 16 mm.

Cross made of bronze. Cross arms with smooth, 3 mm wide edge. The inner sides are matte. Front and back panels with round central embossed screen (22 mm). On the upper cruciform shoulder is a soldered ordinary eye with a ribbon ring.

Front side:

• The central shield with a raised edge has a wide outer ring.
• Inside it is delineated by a thin line. On it is rewriting:
• - VIGILANDO - ASCENDIMUS - below 3 small 6-beam stars.
In
• a closed field, the letters - E W - are intertwined.
• Above it is a crown.

Downside:

• The edge of the middle shield is formed from a dense oak-leaved wreath.
• At the bottom, it is connected by a double loop.
• In the nested field, 3-line font - For -/- German -/- Fidelity -.
